decorative industry; Keding Enterprises made efforts in developing
a new UV curing coating for wood veneer surface. After repeated
tests, Keding R&D team established a best way to combine the
waterborne UV cured coating with natural wood veneer. This new
application of UV technology on wood veneer had shifted the
traditional dim look melamine surface to a very clear and vivid
appearance.

The warmth of wood & the ease of laminate
- combining tradition and progress.
KEDING prefinished laminated wood veneer consists of selected
natural wood veneers (grade A or better) that have been coated
with a protective UV curing, and laminated onto different
backings (paper, impregnated kraft paper). The resulting maintenance-free
surface, resistance and durability make our laminates versatile
as decorative high pressure laminate. The veneers are book
matched (unless otherwise indicated) to enhance their natural
beauty. Due to the inherent properties of wood and the changing
number of pieces cut from any given log, variations in color
and grain will appear from one sheet to another. This is a
natural occurrence, and not a defect. A natural maturing and
mellowing of color may occur with age for melamine-resin based
wood veneer. But for KEDING UV curing processed wood veneer,
this natural defect is greatly improved.
KEDING prefinished laminated wood veneer gives
any room a noble character. Its surface creates a high quality
individual optical appearance. As nature of this product is,
the structure is never quite the same, a unique surface appearance
is created with each sheets. No high pressure laminate is

created by all the laminates together produces a harmonious overall

combing with other material.
The wood veneer surface is protected by advanced UV curing coating
which can solve the wood veneer crack problem absolutely. It is because
of the water-based solvent UV varnish can mix with the wood veneer
strongly. After UV radiant hardening process, both of them integrates

General Description
Our UV curing coated veneered laminate brings to the market an innovative
material with the warmth of wood & the ease of laminate. All of KD prefiinished
wood veneered laminates are treated with UV curing coating on the top. By this
new method, the color fading of wood veneer is greatly improved and the crack
problem is also eliminating. The backing can be paper or impregnated
kraft paper or plywood etc.. KD UV curing coated veneered laminate is an
evolution for surface decorative material and wood veneer products. A natural
maturing and mellowing of color may occur with age. This is consistent with the
behavior of real wood, however, UV curing could extend the time against color
fading.

Performance
In order to express how high quality of our prefinished laminated wood
veneers can perform, our products has been subjected to trials by Taiwan
national administration, THE BUREAU OF STANDARDS, METROLOGY AND INSPECTION.
The testing method is CNS 11367 (Chinese National Standard), Method of
test for decorative laminated sheets. CNS 11367 is similar to EN438 and
NEMA Publication LD3-2000.
The product was shown to meet or exceed the minimum values for general-purpose
grade laminates. The following test results were as below.

Surface Abrasion Resistance:
More than 1550 rotations of abrasion.

No cracks and indents on surface.

Grade 0 (the lower the better).
No visible changes or hairy cracks.

Antibiotic Property
SGS JIS Z 2801 testing method.
Testing bacteria: Staphylococcus (antimicrobial value 6.69) &
Escherichia Coli (antimicrobial value 4.35).
The value of antibacterial activity shall not be less than 2.0 for
antimicrobial.

The decor layer of KEDING prefinished laminated wood veneer is cut
from real wood log, variations in color and grain will appear from
one sheet to another. This is a natural occurrence, and not a defect.

Applications
Due to our original protective UV curing coating, KEDING prefinished laminated
wood veneer are very suitable for use on both vertical and horizontal interior
surfaces. No matter on desk top, cabinet surface, wall panels, or even ceilings,
our products can give any room a noble character. It has been wide range
applied in hall, office, dinning hall, hotel, lounge, house, shopping mall,
commercial space, restaurant, chain stores and EXPO.
Non-Recommended Applications
KEDING prefinished laminated wood veneer is not recommended for exterior
use.
Suitable Substrates
It could be plywood, high-density fiberboard (HDF), medium-density fiberboard
(MDF), or particleboard.
The ready to be bonded substrate must be very flat, clean and free of dust
and grease. The best contact adhesive could be wood glue or super glue.
When combined with the substrate, edge banding sealing is necessary to avoid
mist infiltrated. Sealing the substrate will ensure that the subsequent
adhesive coat remains on the surface, and available for bonding.
Lamination
Polyvinyl acetate, urea and resorcinol adhesives are highly recommended.
For full size lamination, we strongly recommended it should be processed
by low temperature press machine. When processed it with high temperature
press machine, the temperature of the press should not exceed 140°F (60°C).
When laminating press is not available for partly lamination, it can be
obtained using standard solvent-based contact adhesives (wood glue or
super glue). The adhesive should be flatly applied across both very clean
surfaces. Always work from the center outward to eliminate air bubbles,
and to ensure proper bonding. Always follow the adhesive manufacturer's
directions.
Installation
KEDING Prefinished Laminated Wood Veneers can be machined with any tools
normally used to fabricate high-pressure decorative laminates. All edges
of should be sealed well to prevent moisture penetration.
Maintenance
The surface of our UV veneers could be cleaned by ordinary household cleaner.
Stubborn stains may require organic solvents such as alcohol, acetone,
and lacquer thinner or paint solvents.

KEDING Prefinished laminated
wood veneers
More and more wood workers are trying to develop a better working
system to handle traditional decorative wood veneer pieces. In order
to satisfy this kind of more effective and higher quality requirements,
KEDING Enterprises combines advanced UV technology and traditional
wood veneer into a new product line, prefinished laminated wood
veneers.
Ultraviolet radiant energy is applied to decorative and protective
coatings to initiate a photochemical process that cures wood veneer
into a hard, solid film. Ultraviolet curing applications are less
toxic than traditional melamine-resin based lamination wood veneers.
UV technology can increase the quality grade of our wood veneers
because of the nearly instantaneous curing time would make a very
clear solid film on the veneer surface. It can also obtain greater
energy efficiency because all the energy is used for curing, totally
change the much consumption traditional spray-painting way. UV technology
can achieve and maintain compliance with environmental regulations
by reducing the volatile organic compound emissions, because UV-curable
materials contain little or no solvents. We always do the right
things to be environmental friendly industries.

Our decision to use the UV technology rather than conventional melamine-resin
based lamination is based on the superior quality of the product when applied
to the wood veneer. UV technology preserves the natural beauty of wood vividly,
it is incomparable with the earlier ones.
The UV ray drying process involves mixing the varnish with a small quantity
of a product called a photo-initiator. When this solution is exposed to
UV ray, the surface varnish hardening appears almost immediately. Due to
this quick hardening process, the water based UV varnish solution can mix
with the veneer completely without any dust or powder inside. Veneer cracking
problem would be solved and the top coating would be very clear than ever.
Our products are pre-varnished by UV technology in popular varieties and
laminated in different backings. If you need customized finishes and colors,
